Police Stress Locking Vehicle After Parked

A strong reminder from Thunder Bay police to lock the door of your vehicle after parking.

They say it was Friday night when they were alerted to someone who they say was stealing from cars in the Red River Road and Cumberland Street area.

Police learned a man on a bicycle was lurking around some vehicles, and when confronted by a witness while rummaging in a car, he took off.

Police tracked the man down, and say they returned stolen items including a passport to the owners.

The 30-year old Thunder Bay man who police say was on probation, was charged with theft, and released.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
