The Trans-Canada highway is being expanded to four lanes in the Dorion area.
The federal Liberal government announced funding for the project which includes two new bridges at Ouimet.
The federal government is investing over $37 million, which they say will be provided once the province consults with Indigenous groups and completes an environmental assessment.
The pre-election announcement says the investment will cover an 8.6-kilometre stretch of the 11/17.
