Thunder Bay can expect some scattered showers through the day, as well as the odd thunderstorm.
Environment Canada adds it could also get windy, with gusts up to 40kms an hour.
Meteorologist Mark Shuster points out we’ve missed the worst of it, as there were rainfall warnings further west such as Kenora and Red Lake.
“That has since been ended. It looks like an area with very heavy rain, mainly last evening, with embedded thunderstorms. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if areas that way got in excess of 50mm.”
The meteorologist adds any significant rain will stay much further north of here.
But, he also making note of travel east of here.
“Anyone that’s travelling east of Thunder Bay this morning, along Highway 17, towards Marathon and Wawa, there could be some areas of heavy rain, maybe for the next few hours.”
Showers are expected into Thursday, but the sun makes an appearance again on Friday.
