Moose Hunting Changes Proposed

The provincial government is out with proposed changes to the moose hunting program.

The revised management strategy includes changes to how licenses are issued to encourage hunting parties.

It also includes a new points system to determine how tags are distributed.

Hunting parties would also be reduced to a maximum size of 10, with the allowance of a wider area to hunt from each other.

The changes are scheduled to go into effect in 2021.

You can now comment on the potential changes online until September 26th.

The recommendations come from public consultations, including a session in Thunder Bay and Dryden.
