Construction is starting this week on a brand new athletics centre for Lakehead University.
Athletics Director Tom Warden tells us it is a pretty big project.
“It’s a 30,000 square foot facility. It has outdoor possibilities and recreation around the new facility as well.”
Work is set to begin by Wednesday with fences expected to be set up around the CJ Sanders Fieldhouse and its parking lot.
Warden notes they hope to continue work into the fall months.
The Lakehead University official couldn’t reveal the cost of the project.
