School Boards Vying For Government Funds

The Ford government is providing school boards with access to funding for major school projects and child care spaces.

David Wright of the Lakehead Public School Board tells us the board is likely to take advantage of the school renovation program.

Wright indicates board administration will meet as a team to discuss what capital projects “might be in the hopper” which could be eligible for the funding.

He says that the group will include elected trustees.

The school board official explains the program is a return to a similar one which was put on ice a couple of years ago.

The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board was not able to provide us with a spokesperson for this story.
