Don’t expect engineering work for the proposed indoor turf facility in Chapples Park to start right away.
City spokesperson Gerry Broere explains there are still some formalities to get out of the way first.
First, a consultant needs to be hired and Broere expects that to go before city councillors sometime in September.
Following that, the job will need to go to tender, which he hopes will take place in May.
The work will include the design and development of drawings along with studying the soil, parking, and traffic.
The city official also confirms the $4 million cost of the engineering work is indeed part of $30 million price tag for the turf facility.
