Fund For Evacuees Buying An Ambulance

Pikangikum First Nation has directed a fund set up for them towards another local organization.

The First Nation has asked the Community Foundation, which launched the fund to direct the money towards St. John Ambulance.

Officials say the money will go towards purchasing a used ambulance for the organization.

They note St. John Ambulance has gone above and beyond in their support of Pikangikum evacuees staying at the Airlane Hotel and Vallhalla Inn.

To date, the fund has raised almost $13,000.
