Tbaytel Phone Service Issue Resolved

Tbaytel’s communications coordinator says she can’t say what caused a weekend phone service interruption.

While Laura Foulds notes the problem has been solved, the cause has been tougher to find because it was nationwide, affecting other companies as well.

“It’s always something we look at to determine if our network was experiencing a different issue, or if it was something that was the same root cause for everyone’s network… but at this time we’re still looking into it.”

The communications coordinator adds when they know the problem, they’ll let everyone know what it was.

“It wasn’t all phones, it wasn’t all customers, it was intermittent. So again, when you’re kind of looking at test scenarios it’s difficult when it wasn’t a wide spread outage. So, there’s still some root cause analysis to be done.”

The communications coordinator adds other companies such as Rogers and Telus reported problems.
