They are breathing a sigh of relief in Pikangikum First Nation with news the wildfire near their community is officially out.
The blaze came close to the First Nation several weeks ago forcing residents to evacuate with about 300 coming to Thunder Bay.
There are currently 19 active fires in the Northwest Region.
Six are not under control, two fires are being held, five are under control, and six are being observed.
The forest fire hazard is high to extreme across the region.
