Hajdu Wants More Contracts For Bombardier

There’s hope the provincial and federal government will work together to provide more contracts to Thunder Bay’s Bombardier plant.

Federal Labour Minister Patty Hajdu suggests the province could receive federal funds for their future public transit projects.

“We encourage Minister Yurek and the province of Ontario to submit those detailed plans as soon as they can. I spoke to Minister Champagne last night, and he reassured me that as soon as they receive that application, we have the money ready to go.”

The Thunder Bay MP is pleased the province has asked Metrolinx to up their Bombardier order for passenger coaches.

She notes its a start and is hopeful more contracts will be made available in the future.
