Beer & Wine Legislation Passes

Conservative MPPs and cabinet ministers who took to Twitter over the weekend to promote the ability to buy beer in corner stores have faced many negative comments.

Kenora MPP Greg Rickford rebukes the people who called them out with many responses to their tweets being called propaganda.

“I can tell you the overwhelming consensus is that this was a great opportunity for the province. It’s been very well received by people. A small group of people who live off twitter would have you think otherwise.”

Rickford adds it was time for the province to offer beer and wine in convenience stores as it is in other parts of North America.

The legislation allowing beer and wine to be sold in convenience stores passed today at Queen’s Park.
