City Gets $13.2M For Boulevard Lake Dam Upgrades

Upgrades are planned for the Boulevard Lake Dam to increase its ability to handle flood waters.

Acting Mayor Rebecca Johnson tells us she’s thrilled to see $13.2 million from the federal government for the project.

“We needed these dollars. We would have had to reallocate money from other projects if we hadn’t received this funding from the federal government. It was a serious situation, and this project has to be done. The money is going to be very well used.”

Johnson notes work should begin quickly on the dam since the project has been on City Hall’s radar for some time.
