Ontario Sending Firefighters To Alberta

Ontario is set to send reinforcements to help battle wildfires in northern Alberta.

Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry spokesperson Chris Marchand says they have received a request for support and are now finalizing arrangements.

Several wildfires are burning out of control in the western province, including around 92,000 hectares near the town of High Level.

Over 5,000 people have been evacuated in that area.

Crews from B.C. and Nova Scotia have also been contacted to provide mutual aid.
