It’s time for the real work to begin.
That statement from Kenora District Services Board Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall.
A Memorandum of Understanding has been reached with Nishnawbe Aski Nation, the KDSB and the Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board.
Wall says the first step is establishing a working group from all of the organizations that will bring their plan to life.
He notes they have to ensure that everyone has a seat at that table who should be there.
Moving forward Wall says “What are some of the driving factors as to why so many people experience homelessness in our communities and then looking at how can everyone participate”.
One priority for the working group according to Wall is “how do we communicate all this back to all of our communities. How do we ensure that First Nation communities know what’s happening to their members off-reserve.”
