Not everyone is on board with a name proposed for a new Lakehead Public elementary school.
The Northern Lights Waldorf school has expressed its concerns over the similarity to the proposed Ecole Northern Lights.
Superintendent of Education Sherri-Lynne Pharand tells us they’ve been in contact and have said to the Waldorf school they didn’t select the new name to be disrespectful.
“We certainly understand that the supporters are disappointed. We hope to have a working relationship moving forward.”
Public school board trustees will vote on the new name on May 28th.
