The local Ministry of Natural Resources office is starting to get calls about black bears making their way into our community.
Spokesperson Michelle Nowak tells us it’s been a fairly slow start this spring.
“Three reports of black bears in May and its important to remember that one bear can lead to multiple calls to the office and this amount of calls is considered to be a relatively low amount for this time of year.”
The MNR’s bear wise line first to report the bear, and if it’s an immediate threat call 911.
