Thunder Bay’s Kinna-aweya Legal Clinic is concerned they’ll be forced to reduce their services after the province announced they would be cutting funding to clinics.
Legal clinic spokesperson Beth Ponka tells us this will hurt the most vulnerable people in our community.
“People who are living in poverty and who need access to free legal assistance in order to access their basic human rights.”
The clinic’s budget is mostly made up of salaries for front line staff and notes it’s already pretty lean.
