City police are not able to confirm much as they continue probing the homicide of 52-year-old Andrew Ayre.
Detective Inspector Ryan Hughes can’t say what the city man was able to tell investigators before he succumbed to his injuries last night, only confirming that he spoke to them.
He notes a passer-by found Ayre seriously injured at the corner of Victoria Avenue and North Street on Thursday.
Investigators say they don’t believe any weapons were involved in the incident that caused his injuries, but not it is “still under investigation”.
32-year-old David Vernon Gregorovich has been charged with second-degree murder and robbery in connection with his death.
Police add they are still investigating whether a second person was involved in the homicide.
