Snow Removal Costly To City

The snow we got this winter was more expensive to deal with than the city expected.

Infrastructure and Operations Manager Kerri Marshall told city council they are $1.1 million in the red for their snow removal budget, which could get worse.

“Primarily the overage is due to snow removal, and not necessarily snow plowing. But certainly if we do receive a significant snowfall this year we would go further into a negative.”

The city official points out they have enough in their snow removal reserves to take care of most of that deficit.
