Disturbing Case Of Animal Cruelty Investigated

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry confirms they are investigating a disturbing case of animal cruelty in the Dryden area.

A viral video surfaced on social media on the weekend showing two young males attacking a lone and defenseless beaver on a road.

The video shows the pair throwing what appears to be rocks at the animal, eventually knocking it completely out.

It also shows a young female filming the entire incident, at times laughing and saying that the beaver has been “merked”.

She ends the video post by asking them to stop as one person is seen picking up the beaver with intentions of tossing it off the road.

MNRF spokesperson Sergeant Dan Hale says they can provide no other information except that officials are looking into the incident and have spoken to the people involved.
