The InterLibrary Loan Service program has been put on ice.
Crystal Alcock, the head librarian at the Kenora Library, says that it’s the result of the first budget from the Ford government.
“There was a major cut to the Ontario Library Services, which administer the program…we’re sort of in a holding pattern until we hear more about how they’re going to deal with that budget cut and that service is cut for now,” says Alcock.
She adds that they don’t know when they’ll be provided with more information, and that libraries are trying to figure out what to do about books currently in other cities.
