Ontario Man Appears On Simpsons As PM

A news reporter with a radio station in southern Ontario will be the voice of Justin Trudeau on tonight’s episode of the Simpsons.

Lucas Meyer tells us his ability for impersonations has been noted in some news articles, which eventually lead to an email he got out of the blue.

“It says ‘Hi there, this is the casting producer of the Simpson’s, we have an episode based in Canada. We have a bit involving the Prime Minister, we came across your stuff, we were wondering if you’d be so interested to audition.'”

The southern Ontario man reveals he voiced the episode in September, and describes not telling anyone until now.

“In one sense it was pretty easy, because we are in this business, we are used to keeping secrets, and holding onto confidential information. But at the same time you definitely want to yell it from the roof tops.”

The news reporter adds he’s always done impersonations for fun, until friends convinced him about 2 years ago, when in Calgary, to put in on video.

Then one day he says he got a letter from the show asking him to audition after seeing his ability.

“You don’t expect this because you’re just doing something for your friends and family, and it’s just unbelievable.”

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
