Board Invites Police Association To Meetings

The police services board wants to get to know the police association a bit better now that the union will be getting a new president.

Board administrator Tom Lockwood tells us in January he started setting aside time during their meetings to hear an update from the association.

“I think because it was so brand new, I’m not sure what the association knew what to make of this. So they have not as yet taken up our offer.”

The police board administrator feels there’s no downside to have the board and the public hear from the association every month.

Lockwood explains “the community has to get to know the police and the fine work they are doing.”
