Potholes on Thunder Bay roads are getting the credit for an increase in business at Narvi’s Auto.
Manager Darryl Roberts tells us this year they’ve noticed a rise in broken sway bar links, which is part of the suspension.
“Not actually worn out, but being broken… and coil springs. The amount of impacts into potholes, coil springs are actually breaking and sheering off.”
The manager notes how coil springs are being affected.
“The coil springs are getting more corroded. That may be part and parcel to the chemical using now to melt the ice on the road. You get a good shot in the pothole, they snap.”
The Narvi’s manager expects more business over the spring and summer as people drive with windows down, and hear more noises.
Now, we took our news mic into the community to find out if you think this is the worst season for road conditions in Thunder Bay.
We also asked where you think the worst spots are.
