Christmas Cheer Goes Over The Top

Organizers of this year’s Christmas Cheer campaign are ecstatic after exceeding their $116,000 fundraising goal.

Chair Joleene Kemp explains it means they were able to provide Christmas hampers to all the needy that applied for one.

She says “it’s nice to be able pay our bills and say thank you Thunder Bay for coming through.”

Kemp admits it’s an exhilarating feeling to make it to a successful conclusion knowing “people did remember us.”

The campaign chair credits Acadia Broadcasting’s 12 Hours of Cheer on Monday for getting them over the top sooner than expected with close to $43,000 in donations.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
