A live-action adaption of a cartoon classic is coming our way and Entertainment Weekly tweeted out a first-look at the main players. Aladdin is set to hit theatres in May of 2019. Will Smith is headlining as the Genie. The hair book-ending the top of his head and chin is quite the look. A lot of people are upset he’s not blue. Big Willie took to social media to calm the masses. He says this is just the Genie’s human/disguise form and he’ll be blue (and CGI) for most of the movie.
Will’s posing with Naomi Scott who plays Princess Jasmine and Mena Massoud who is “The Prince of Thieves”, Aladdin himself! Mena’s story is pretty cool. He’s a Canadian actor from Toronto. My buddy used to work with him at a restaurant and all of a sudden … BAM! He’s “Aladdin”!
