Border Cats Sold To Local Group

The Thunder Bay Border Cats will live to see another season.

Team Vice-President Bryan Graham says after months of negotiations, a local group has come through with the needed funds to save the team.

Grand Slam Sports and Entertainment, a group of 22 local investors, are now the owners of the Northwoods League team.

Graham explains it was “a long and winding road” to get to this point, but everyone is relieved it’s now complete. ‘

He notes “anytime you try to put together an investment group of this magnitude,” it’s bound to take a long time to get down.

The team vice-president says now they will begin the process of hiring a general manager and a field boss.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
