We may finally learn why gasoline prices are as high as they are in northwestern Ontario.
The Competition Bureau of Canada is honouring a request from PC MPP Greg Rickford.
It’s agreed to looking into the reasons for gasoline prices are higher in northwestern Ontario than anywhere else.
Rickford says he became upset about the situation when he realized the gas stations in this region did not lower their prices after the carbon tax was removed in the province.
The Kenora-Rainy River MPP and energy minister suspects it will take a couple of months for the Bureau to “take a very careful look” at the situation.”
