One of Dorion’s most active senior citizens has been recognized by the province.

Margaret Evelyn Harris was given the 2018 Ontario Senior Achievement Award for her efforts in keeping seniors in her community socially active, engaged, and connected.

MPP Michael Gravelle presented her with the honour in Dorion recently because she wasn’t able to make it to a ceremony at Queen’s Park.

The senior awards are the province’s highest form of recognition for individuals over the age of 65.

Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
