The local LGBT community is honouring the lives of the people they’ve lost.
Today is International Transgender Day of Remembrance, and Lakehead University’s Pride Central is holding a two-part event to remember transgender people who have died due to discrimination or suicide.
First, people are invited to help create an art collage at the Agora from 1 to 4 PM.
In the University Centre from 7 to 9 PM, there will be speeches, a film screening, and an outdoor candlelight vigil.
Organizers are reminding you to dress for the weather if you wish to participate in the vigil.
