Canada Games Flag Raised

Thunder Bay is marking the countdown to the Canada Winter Games this February.

Officials raised a flag this afternoon along with other host communities across Canada.

Spokesperson Doug Henry tells us the 1981 Canada Summer Games were very important to our community.

“Not only did it serve to develop sport in our community but of course we’ve got some legacy facilities that remain viable and important to our community, the Canada Games Complex and the Royal Canadian Legion Track. They’ve served our community well over the number of years.”

The winter games are being held in Red Deer this year.
