At least one municipal election candidate claims some of their signs were damaged.
However, City Clerk John Hannam notes it doesn’t seem to be a major problem in our community.
“It’s never risen to the level where we’ve had to contemplate any kind of response or notice to the public.”
The City Clerk adds they’ve had more complaints about signs that are improperly placed on city owned property.
In that situation, Hannam explains, “We advise the candidates that we’ve had a complaint about a sign at a given address, and could they please move it, or move it back from the edge of the curb,”
“They can’t place signs on the boulevard, because that’s city property.”
If you see a damaged or vandalized sign, Hannam explains you should tell the candidate in question so they can deal with the situation.
