Shelter Hopes To Fill Shelves

The Shelter House is looking at some bare shelves, and is hoping you can help with its annual food drive this weekend.

Spokesperson Amber Prairie notes due to recent successful drives, they’re collecting donations both Saturday and Sunday.

The Real Canadian Superstore, the Metro stores on Arthur Street, as well as Westfort Foods and Shawn’s No Frills on Dawson will accept donations.

She notes the need is immense.

“Our cupboard is dwindling,” Prarie explains, “A couple weeks ago we did put out to the community that we really needed food,”

Working together with the local Rotary Clubs, Prairie is appealing for canned goods, coffee, peanut butter and other non-perishable food.
