Rotary Helps Local Groups

Port Arthur’s Rotary Club is giving $9,000 to 7 local organizations.

Spokesperson Kevin Holloway tells us members fundraised throughout the year so they could give back to local groups.

“Helping a group to do something, if they didn’t have money to do it, they wouldn’t be able to do it. It’s thought of as a kickstarting funding, not funding forever.”

One of the seven organizations that received money was the Elizabeth Fry Society who is using their funds to purchase transit tokens for women recently released from jail.
