A former Thunder Bay Liberal MPP and Thunder Bay councillor is running for mayor.
Bill Mauro tells us he was persuaded to make the move after talking it over with his family and supporters.
Says Mauro, “A lot of people expressed their support for me and have been asking me to run.”
He suggests there was pressure to make a decision since the deadline to officially sign the candidate papers was tomorrow, and he would not get the chance for another four years.
The mayoral candidate hopes voters will see the over two decades of political experience he’s gained, and time spent at Queen’s Park, to be an asset as mayor. (File photo)
