Shelter House is $2,600 closer to affording a new van for its street outreach program.
Shelter support worker and OPSEU local Vice President Joseph Everett explains union members wanted to help out in January after the van broke down.
He says they did a “pass the hat” challenge at a recent conference, and within 20 minutes, raised the $2,600.
Shelter House officials say that while they’re using Roots to Harvests’ van for street outreach now, this brings them very close to affording a new van.
