Spring not only brings warmer temperatures to northwestern Ontario, but ticks as well.
Dr. Ken Deacon at the District Health Unit indicates they are late in arriving this year.
He notes the harsh winter temperatures could have slowed down their arrival and possibly reduced their numbers.
Dr. Deacon notes the Health Unit has not had any ticks brought in for testing so far this season.
The health official believes we should start seeing ticks any day now, including the deer tick which is a lyme disease carrier. (File photo)
