Free Comic Book Day Fundraising For Local Groups

If you’re a fan of comic books, today is like Christmas because stores are giving them away for free.

Free Comic Book Day is recognized across Canada and Robert Quinn of Hill City Comics in Thunder Bay tells us it also acts as a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs.

He explains that each person who goes into the store gets two free comic books, but they’ll hand out two more to anyone who makes a donation to the Boys and Girls Clubs.

The store owner tells us last year he raised $1,100.

Meanwhile, Gary Gummeson of Comix Plus tells us his shop is giving its proceeds to the Dew Drop Inn.

Gummeson points out that Free Comic Book Day is consistently the busiest day of the year for him. (File Photo)
