Folklore Festival Back For 45th Year

It’s Folklore Festival time once again at the Fort William Gardens.

Organizer Jeanetty Jumah describes the event at the Fort William Gardens as a celebration of what makes us Canadian.

The event is going into its 45th year this weekend.

Jumah tells us they’ve come a long way since their first event.

“We have been celebrating Folklore since 1973, when we had 500 people,” Jumah recalls, “Now, we had over 13,000 people at the festival last year.”

It’s on at the Gardens from noon until 11 o’clock tonight, and runs from noon until 7 o’clock tomorrow.

The festival boasts entertainment, food and drink from around the world.
