Officials will be testing a new emergency alert system for mobile phones today.
Katie Crowe of Tbaytel explains your phone will be be receiving a test message accompanied by an alarm sound at 1:55 this afternoon.
The process is happening across the province at the exact same time on mobile phones, radios, and televisions.
Crowe tells us that since the mobile alert system was only launched in April, officials wanted to make sure it’s working the way it’s supposed to.
