Holodomor Tour Visits Thunder Bay Again

Hammarskjold High School students are learning about a dark period in Ukraine’s history.

In the 30’s the Soviet Union starved Ukrainians resulting in genocide, with over a million deaths.

It also was a driving factor for many Ukrainians immigrating to Canada.

Teacher Jason Timko tells us the massacre of Ukraine’s people from 1932 to 1933 is an overlooked part of world history.

The mobile classroom will be in Thunder Bay on Friday and already visited Churchill High School last year.
