A stubborn grass fire in Oliver-Paipoonge Township has been keeping volunteer firefighters busy this afternoon.
According to a witness the fire is located in a field on Gillespie Road and Candy Mountain Road in Slate River Valley.
Information at this time is limited, but we are told the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is helping the volunteer fire service by supplying a helicopter.
Wind conditions are said to be hampering efforts to control the spreading blaze. We are trying to verify whether structures have been damaged. (Photo/video supplied)
