Tbaytel is reporting $191-million in revenues for 2017, and the city’s share is just over 18.5 million of that.
A number of residents in the Neebing ward have put forth a motion, through their councillor, on what they want the city to do with its share.
Linda Rydholm heard plenty of concern at a ward meeting about Thunder Bay’s debt.
She says people want the debt paid off, using the revenues from TbayTel.
The councillor noted many people are not happy that the city has two dollars of debt for every dollar in reserve.
They’re also not pleased the debt wouldn’t be paid off in one lump sum, but in installments over a number of years. (File Photo)
