Local municipal leaders are out to prove that northwestern Ontario is an under-serviced area.
Past president of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association, Dave Canfield says this region is definitely a “have-not” part of the province.
“There’s a lot of other things in northwestern Ontario we do not have that the rest of the province has. Some of them we will be talking about. We’re actually going to be doing do a study at NOMA to find out exactly how many things we do not have in comparison to southern or other parts of Ontario. This will be coming out long after the election.”
Canfield says examples of services northwestern Ontario doesn’t have that southern Ontario enjoys include subsidized inter-community bus service and non-urgent land ambulences. (File Photo)
