Jordan Staal’s infant daughter, Hannah, has passed away.
A statement from the Carolina Hurricanes says their thoughts and prayers are with the team’s captain.
They say Staal has been absent from their last two games to spend time with his wife, Heather.
Reports indicate that Staal will be taking indefinite time off from the team.
