Legislation necessary for the province to provide an 8 per cent rebate on hydro costs beginning January 1st has passed at Queen’s Park.
The rebate is to show up on the bill itself.
The province says for the average homeowner, it amounts to an $11 a month saving.
The passing of the Ontario Rebate for Electricity Consumers Act also provides eligible rural ratepayers with an additional rebate of about $45 a month.
