Charges Laid In Two Wednesday Incidents

City police have two men in custody after a series of incidents yesterday that led to charges being laid.

A 28 year old man riding a bike got into a crash with a vehicle on Arthur Street, destroying the bike and damaging the vehicle.

Police say he got up and a short while later stole a new bike from a local business.

Police are charging him with stolen property, obstructing police, breach of probation as well as failing to stop for a red light and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

In another incident last night a 25 year old man tried to rob a gas station on John Street.

Officers say when he failed to get cash he got into a stolen vehicle and drove into a hydro pole that put an end to his vehicle.

He was later found in a nearby home and was charged with robbery, possession of stolen property and dangerous driving.

He was already wanted on previous charges of robbery and forcible confinement. (File photo)
