Inspector Sylvie Hauth will be the City’s Deputy Chief of Police.
The board made the announcement Wednesday with Chair Jackie Dojack saying Hauth possessed the best skills, experience and vision for the service.
Hauth is the first woman deputy in the history of the local police force.
The appointment comes after a four month search by the board following the announcement of the retirement of Deputy Chief Andrew Hay.
