Provincial Government Scrapping Contracts For Renewable Energy Projects

The provincial government is promising more electricity savings for homeowners.

Energy Minister Glen Thibeault says they are scrapping billions of dollars worth of wind, solar and other
renewable energy projects.

Thibeault says he made the decision after the Independant Electricity System Operator indicated there is not
an urgent need for additional energy.

He says for the average consumer, axing the contracts will save them about $2.45 on their monthly bills.

The Wynne government continues to be under fire in Question Period for the high price of electricity and the sell-off of Hydro One shares.
